Story #4 is complete!
So, my fourth story is finally complete! Whoo!
Am I off the timeline I set for myself? A little lol. Once again I am falling behind on my own self-imposed schedule. I am beating the last of the Winter blues and I am hoping that my mental health can improve with the warming up of the weather and the coming of Spring blooms and sunshine. It's no secret that the state of the nation (the U.S. for those of you who might live elsewhere) is not good right now. And well...I am feeling everything very heavily. But I won't get into that here. Now is a time for celebration and moving forward.
I completed my fourth story this month and I still have plenty of time to get my first novella out into the world before the year ends. Right now I am battling the issue with copyrighting my work. Do I register my work now and wait until everything is finalized? If so, that will take me waaayyy off my tentative schedule because I've been told that waiting for the final copyright certificate takes months. Or should I file for the copyright and then publish my work anyway before receiving the finalized certificate? Will this impact the copyright's validity? This is all so new to me and all the information for self publishing is so overwhelming. Me and stress do not go well together. I literally shut down mentally. If everything becomes too overwhelming, I shut down and do nothing at all.
But anyway, copyrighting is the next hurdle in addition to finishing edits of my last two stories I've completed. And also trying to write summaries/book blurbs for them. Currently, I just feel happy that progress is being made with my writing despite the feelings of overwhelm creeping in.
Onward and upward! I'll be back with another update soon.
